Chompi Labs ("Chompi", "we", "us", or "our") operates the Chompi mobile app (the "App"). This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have. By using Chompi, you agree to the collection and use of information as described here.

Information We Collect

Account Information

• Email address
• Display name and username
• An identifier from Sign in with Apple or Google Sign-In, if you use those methods to authenticate

Profile & Health-Related Information

You may choose to provide the following to personalize your experience:

• Sex, age, height, and weight
• Nutrition goal (lose, maintain, or gain weight), weight-loss pace, and activity level
• Time zone

If you enable Apple Health integration (available on iOS), Chompi may read or write health and fitness data with your explicit permission. You control this access at all times in the iOS Health app or your device Settings.

Meals, Photos, and Activity

• Photos you take or upload of meals and drinks for AI analysis
• The resulting meal or drink name, estimated calories, protein, carbs, fat, and Chompi's reaction
• Water/drink logs
• Streaks, XP, levels, pet progression, and cosmetic/wardrobe choices
• Friend connections you make with other Chompi users

Purchases

Chompi offers subscriptions, cosmetic items, and consumable "bites" packs, processed via the App Store or Google Play and managed through RevenueCat. We (via RevenueCat) receive your purchase and subscription status, product identifiers, and transaction identifiers. We do not receive or store your payment card details, which are handled entirely by Apple or Google.

Push Notifications

If you enable notifications, we store a device push token to send you reminders (like Chompi missing you or a streak at risk) and Live Activity updates. You can disable notifications at any time in Settings.

Automatically Collected Information

• Basic app usage needed to operate the service (e.g. AI scan usage counts, for enforcing free-tier limits)
• Crash and error diagnostics, used to fix bugs and keep the App stable

How We Use Your Information

• To create and maintain your account and Chompi pet
• To analyze meal and drink photos and generate nutrition estimates and Chompi's reaction
• To calculate streaks, XP, levels, and rewards
• To process purchases and grant entitlements (subscriptions, cosmetics, bites)
• To send notifications you've opted into
• To maintain, secure, and improve the App, and to diagnose technical issues
• To enforce free-tier limits and prevent abuse

How We Share Your Information

We do not sell your personal information. We share data only as needed to run Chompi:

• AI meal analysis: meal and drink photos are sent to our AI provider (Google Gemini) solely to generate a nutrition estimate. Photos are not used by us to train AI models.
• Sign-in providers: Apple and Google, if you choose to sign in with them.
• RevenueCat: to process subscriptions and in-app purchases across the App Store and Google Play.
• Push notification providers: Apple (APNs) and Google (FCM), to deliver notifications to your device.
• Service providers: hosting, database, and crash-reporting infrastructure used to run and maintain the App.
• Legal reasons: if required by law or to protect the rights, safety, and security of Chompi or our users.

Other Chompi users can see your username, display name, avatar, and progression if you add them as a friend. Meal photos, journal entries, and health profile details are never shared with other users.

Data Retention

We retain your information for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, we delete or anonymize your personal data within a reasonable period, except where we're required to retain it for legal, tax, or fraud-prevention purposes.

Your Choices

• You can edit your profile information in the App at any time.
• You can disable push notifications in Settings or at the OS level.
• You can disconnect Apple Health access at any time via iOS Settings.
• You can request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal data by contacting us below.
• You can delete your account from within the App, which removes your profile, pet, meals, and related data.

Children's Privacy

Chompi is not directed at children under 16, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 16. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us so we can remove it.

Security

We use industry-standard measures, including encryption in transit, to protect your information. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, so we can't guarantee absolute security.

International Users

Your information may be processed in countries other than the one you live in. By using Chompi, you consent to this transfer, storage, and processing.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we will notify you through the App or by updating the "Last updated" date above.
